The first winter month of the year has come to a close, and what an exciting month of June it has been for our Region.
As of July 1, the QLD First Home Owners Grant returned to its original amount of $15,000. This amount will still be of a massive benefit in assisting First Home Buyers into their First Home. We love helping First Home Buyers into their first homes, and have many ways in which we can do so!
Exciting projects such as the Second Range Crossing are moving full steam ahead, and Nexus has crunched numbers to reveal some interesting project details! The figures shared online show a snapshot of how the project is progressing, and since it began there has been a colossal amount of earth moved, concrete poured and drainage pipes installed.
More than ten million cubic metres of earth have been excavated to create an even surface for the road, with nine million cubic metres of earth filled.
Almost 39,000 cubic metres of concrete has been poured for the bridges and more than 10,000 metres of pipe has been laid for culverts – which is the length of nine Sydney Harbour bridges!
3945 metres of longitudinal drainage pipes and 7370 tonnes of steel reinforcement has been installed for the bridges. Of the 24 bridges being built 13 are 100% complete with another six not far off, being 90% complete.
These statistics show just how large this project is! The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is just one of the many new exciting projects bringing jobs and growth to our area.
In an edition of the Commonwealth Bank QLD Market Report, it was said “Toowoomba has one of Australia’s strongest property markets, which comes consistancy in the job market, population growth and the prospects of its rising regional economy. There are several major infrastructure projects that are helping to drive the economy and provide future growth”.
